DONDA BEAR Update 15: Breaking the Mold

DONDA BEAR Update 15

Neck Ring Issue

Hey everyone! Today’s update covers a production issue we’ve hit with the mold process. As part of our commitment to keeping you in the loop, we want to share the details and our next steps. We’ll keep this update brief so we can focus on getting it resolved quickly. Thank you

In the beginning, we promised to share the full process with you— the good, the bad, and the ugly. We've had plenty of highs, but this update covers one of the tougher moments.

During the 3D modeling stage, we added a raised ring on the bear’s neck to secure the head, hoping it would prevent it from easily slipping off. Unfortunately, since the prototype material was too rigid to test this, we relied on the factory’s confirmation that it would work. However, the ring was too prominent and flexibility of the vinyl was underestimated, making it difficult to remove and reattach the head for eye swaps.

The factory has already started fixing this issue, but it may add one to two weeks to our production timeline. We'll be able to give a more accurate timeline the further along we progress into this production stage. Till then we’ll still keep you updated on any additional changes as we move forward. Thanks so much for your patience!
