DONDA BEAR Update 13
Final Fit
Hey everyone! Today’s update is pretty straightforward. We’re checking out the final look of the K/bear: DONDA before we move into the mold-making phase. Let's take a closer look at where we stand before we take the next big step!
With the shoes updated in the last update, we’ve now locked in the K/bear: DONDA’s defining look, and we couldn’t be more excited about the results. This phase is all about reviewing the final design, and we try out best to carefully size up the figure and ensure there are no lapses or issues before moving forward. We meticulously review all the details—from the boots to the eyes, and even the balance between the bear’s playful character and its bold new elements. We want to make sure that when this figure hits production, it’s as close to perfect as we can make it.
Our previous bears intentionally had no branding because there was no meaningful place to put it without altering the look. For the K/bear: DONDA, we’ve been able to add our brand name to the neck stalk of the bear. It’s a subtle detail that won't alter the overall look or feel of the figure and is mostly hidden from sight. This way, we can maintain the clean design while still giving a nod to the effort behind the scenes. This enhances the product’s identity without compromising its visual integrity.
From the 3D model, a cast model is created, which you can see in the image above. This cast serves as the foundation for the next crucial step: the mold-making process. Once the cast is approved, it’s used to craft the production molds, bringing us one step closer to the final product.
The mold-making process is meticulous and time-consuming, so while we’ll be making steady progress, updates might slow down a bit during this phase. Rest assured, though, we’re nearing the finish line and can’t wait to get these into your hands!
