Prototype Clear Eyes
Hey everyone! For Update 10, we’re wrapping up our work on the eye upgrades. We’ll walk you through some of the challenges we faced and reveal the final results.
Picking up from our last update, we spotted some printing issues and worked with the factory to correct them. Unfortunately, due to a mistake they made when opening the print files, we experienced two more instances of misprints, which you can see in the video above.
There were also positioning and placement issues we had to deal with. The eyes were misaligned, which, in some cases, made the bear appear to be looking in the wrong direction. In other instances, it gave the bear a googly-eyed or cross-eyed appearance, as seen in the images above.
It took some time, but we finally achieved placements we were happy with. While the process is still ongoing to perfect the positioning, we were satisfied with these results for our prototype.
And finally, here's the footage we received from the factory. The head was repainted, and the new clear eyes were installed. These clear eyes will be the ones used in the production versions of the bear figures, as part of the updated look we've been working towards.
